Alumni of The Juilliard School and The Joffrey Ballet School in New York, Lucetta Furr-Snider is also an American Ballet Theater certified instructor. She is the Artistic Director of Woodbridge Academy of Dance in Woodbridge, VA and is on faculty at Capitol Movement Studio. She returned to the DC area after years of studying and performing on both coasts. Lucetta has had the opportunity of working with many dance artists such as Gary Pate, Joe Tremaine, and the dancers of Tap Dog. She’s performed in various events in Washington, DC such as National Tap Day with guest stars, Gregory Hines, Joe Webb, Savion Glover, and Cartier Williams. She’s performed in the Stand for Children event hosted by Rosie O’Donnell, and National Dance Day hosted by Nigel Lythgoe. Lucetta was a company member of the Center Dance Company in Arlington, VA as well as Capitol Movement Dance Company in Washington, DC. She has trained well over 30 years and instructed dancers in many styles for over 15yrs. Her talent for choreography has won her several choreography awards. Lucetta’s personal mission is to share her passion for dance with her students and peers.
