As a California native, David King devotes his passion and energy teaching and spreading his love for
dance any way he can. David began dancing at the age of 8 training under various local and industry instructors building his craft and creating a unique choreography style. With well over a decade of choreography and teaching experience, he has had the privilege of teaching master classes as well as recreational and competitive level routines all around the country.
David was the director of hip hop at Dance Connection Performing Arts Centre in northern California. His work with the studio has garnered many national titles and choreography awards over his 10-year career with the studio. David has also had the privilege of being artistic director and contributing choreographer for various hip hop companies including Groove Against the Machine, Funkanometry SF and Chapkis Dance. His teachings go beyond the studio as well being able to mentor students all over the country as an SDA judge for Revolution Dance Competition.
Many of his current and past students have also received performance opportunities such as auditioning for Americas Got Talent, the Superbowl featuring Beyonce, Bruno Mars, and Coldplay and the Harlem Globetrotters. He has choreographed stage shows at Six Flags parks for many of their holiday events as well as being in the position of lead makeup artist for their Halloween event Fright Fest for many years. Although he currently teaches hip hop and jazz funk predominantly, many of his pieces derive from his experience and training in many styles of dance which lends for a unique visual impact on stage. His experience teaching all ages and levels guarantees each student will leave class more knowledgeable and confident than they came.
