Jailyn D Montgomery is a nationally awarded dancer and artist, born and raised on the east coast. Her background was in martial arts before she began training in a variety of dance styles. Jailyn is currently a member of the International Association of Blacks in Dance and is a former company member of the Capitol Movement Pre-Professional Company, based in Washington, DC. She has danced for many causes including Pediatric Cancer and for funding to establish less toxic treatment for pediatrics in their fight against cancer. She has also performed at highly revered venues throughout the DC area including the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the Anthem Theater, the Filmore Silver Spring, the Howard Theater, the Atlas Theater, and the National Cherry Blossom Festival Main Stage. As a dancer Jailyn has worked with many world-renowned artists such as Fefe Burgos, Dejan Tubic, Hope Boykins, DJ Smart, Jill Ann Wolins, Laura Edwards, Matt Cady, Jason Williams, Alisha Captain, and Twitch, among many more.
Jailyn has indeed found her passion, not just in dance for herself, but also in teaching others and has found a home in working with her dance family at The Movement Studios. She strives to continue to grow as a dancer, educator, and artist and to use her platform to bring awareness to national and international matters through dance and activism.
