Krista Jennings has passionately pursued dance for the last twenty years. She received a full tuition scholarship from the Maryland Council of Dance to attend Towson University Children’s Dance Division in Towson, MD. There, she studied Royal Academy of Dance ballet, pointe, modern, tap, and jazz. During her time studying at Towson, she had the opportunity to perform with the Kirov Ballet in the Nutcracker. Krista later switched her focus from ballet and modern to contemporary and hip-hop at B. Funk Dance Company in Ellicott City, MD. Krista attended college at Virginia Tech where she performed with and choreographed for the Dance Company of Virginia Tech. Since graduating, Krista has been busy teaching at various studios in the DC Metro area as well as traveling nationally as a master class teacher/choreographer. Her choreography has won her many awards such as best choreography, most entertaining routine, and top scores at both regional and national competitions. Krista has also traveled as a judge and convention teacher for the last six years for various regional and national competitions including Elite Dance Challenge, On Point National Dance Competition, Platinum Dance Experience, and Platinum National Dance Competition. Krista has also enjoyed five seasons as a resident choreographer for Woodbridge Dance Company, and she is on faculty as a resident choreographer for Capitol Movement Dance Company in Washington, DC at both the Professional and Pre-Professional level. In 2015, her choreography premiered with Capitol Movement in their Armed Forces Entertainment Tour in Africa and Asia.
